September is here and with it, a new academic year, a new course. In Xior Collblanc, we also start a new academic year, with new students, and new routines.
A new course is always very exciting for everyone, new experiences, new people, and we have everything ready for your arrival, are you ready? If it’s your first time away from home, and you are far away from your family, you will face new challenges and responsibilities that you probably never thought of before.
Apart from planning your new life in our Xior Collblanc residence hall, you will also have to start preparing for your entry to university. Therefore, here are some of our tips to make your entry into this new experience easier:
Make the most of your time with your family:
Now that you are going to spend some time away from home and away from your family and friends, enjoy all the plans you have with them. This time you are away you will have better and worse days, some days you may be sad remembering your loved ones, that is why spending these days with them before leaving will help you a lot when you miss them.
When you are already settled in Xior Collblanc you will always be able to make calls so as not to lose contact with your environment, or send a simple text message to inform them of how your experience in the residence hall and in your studies is going.
Get to know your residence hall and your future friends well:
When you arrive at the Xior Collblanc residence hall, discover every possible corner to find out what you may and may not do in it, its rules and what you are allowed to do as a resident.
Find out about all its services and those common areas where you will be able to meet up with all your future companions and friends to make your stay at the residence hall easier, which of course is always more entertaining with people around you. Above all, don’t get overwhelmed! Take your time to build friendships, everyone is different and everyone needs their own time.
Make sure you have everything you need:
After having done an exploration of the residence and the room, one of the most important things is to make your room your little corner, decorate your little house, this is how you will feel more comfortable, try to make the room as cosy as possible and you will feel at home.
Get to know the city well:
Getting to know the city, which is going to be your home for a long time, is something you must do to know how you live in it, to value where you are and slowly get used to it, knowing the culture and its identity.
Barcelona is a city where you will find everything, one of the most visited, lively and attractive. Everything you need, you can find it.
